Chana Masala

Chana Masala

As the name suggests, chana masala is used to prepare chole recipes. All the spices are dry roasted on a low flame until they change colour and give nice aroma. Then, allowed to cool and powdered in a blender.

Servings: 20 g

Ingredients

  • Poppy seeds 1 tsp
  • Black pepper 8 -10
  • Aniseed 1 tsp
  • Black cardamom 1
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Cloves 2
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg 1
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Mangosteen

Directions

  1. Dry roast all the whole spices (except mangosteen) and pound them to a powder. Add mangosteen and mix well.
